A: If the site is about ...
  1. Comparative animal biology, the study of animal biology, or some specific aspect of animal biology in general (including anatomy, physiology, behavior, classification, distribution, life cycle, etc.), then submit it to the appropriate subcategory in Science: Biology: Zoology.

  2. Phylogeny, classification, taxonomy, or the biology of a specific organism or taxonomic group (including physiology, behavior, life cycle, etc.) it should go under Science: Biology: Flora and Fauna: Animalia.

  3. An ecosystem (such as the reef ecosystem) and/or how organisms interact with each other and their physical environment, your site should go to Science: Biology: Ecology in the appropriate heading.

  4. Scientific studies of agriculture (raising or harvesting of organisms for economic gain), you should submit it to the appropriate category of Science: Agriculture (in most cases Science: Agriculture: Animals).

  5. Business aspects, or any other non-scientific aspects, of agriculture, you should submit it to Business: Agriculture and Forestry: Livestock - or, alternatively, Society: Issues: Animal Welfare if it criticises or defends animal agricultural practices - or indeed any other practices - on animal welfare grounds.



  6. Animals as pets, informational sites should be submitted to the appropriate category under Recreation: Pets and online stores selling products for pets should be submitted to the appropriate category under Shopping: Pets.

  7. Interacting with wildlife as an observer, photographer, collector or hunter, your site should be submitted to Recreation: Outdoors: Wildlife or Recreation: Birding.

  8. Underwater photographs with little biological content, you may wish to submit to Recreation: Outdoors: Scuba Diving: Underwater Photography.

  9. Scientific aspects of maintaining biodiversity or protecting and saving endangered species or other animals or plants (including inventorying organisms and habitats and dealing with invasive species), please submit your site to a subcategory of Science: Environment: Biodiversity.

  10. Political and social issues concerning the protection or conservation of endangered species and other animals, please submit your site to Society: Issues: Environment: Conservation and Endangered Species.

  11. Commercial site offering birdwatching opportunities or other nature-based tours, please submit your site to Recreation: Birding or Recreation: Travel: Specialty Travel: Ecotourism as appropriate.

  12. Extinct animals or paleontology, please submit to Science: Earth Sciences: Paleontology.

  13. Organisms not formally recognized by science (Loch Ness monster, Bigfoot, etc), please submit your site to Science: Anomalies and Alternative Science: Cryptozoology.

  14. A zoological garden (zoo) or public aquarium, please submit it to Science: Institutions: Zoos and Aquariums.
